Delhi Liquor Booking App: A political row erupted soon after the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) launched the 'Delhi Liquor Booking' mobile app to help consumers book liquor online. The Aam Aadmi Party flagged the initiative and demanded its immediate withdrawal.

The AAP leader and former Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj warned of a protest if the current government does not roll it back within 24 hours.

DSIIDC Defends Delhi Liquor Booking App's Rollout

Defending its stance on launching the liquor booking app, the DSIIDC said on Wednesday that the previous Delhi government in 2024 approved the app. The corporation said that the previous government allowed it to prevent brand pushing in retail sales.

A senior DSIIDC officer said, "In order to ensure transparency, digital governance and avoid brand pushing, the Delhi Liquor Booking app was rolled out by DSIIDC in November 2025, " as reported by PTI.

The officer further stated, "Earlier, approval was granted for developing the app by DSIIDC Management in December 2024. A work order for developing the app was issued on January 2, 2025."

All About the Delhi Liquor Booking App

The app has been developed and launched by the Delhi government's DSIIDC to allow people to book alcohol online from select retail outlets. One can search for their favourite brands only at DSIIDC-run liquor vends. After booking and paying online, users can visit the store and get their orders. Home delivery options aren't available yet.

As for who can book liquor through this app depends upon the age limit. Those below 25 years of age cannot book the products online.

“Consumers have to pay in advance through the application. They can pick their order at the DSIIDC liquor vend. There are nearly 210 liquor vends run by DSIIDC across the city,” an official said, as quoted by PTI.

However, the response from the consumers has not been very good. Further expansion would depend on how the users respond to it in the coming days.
