A class 3 girl fell inside the classroom and died, prompting panic in a school in Delhi's Mayur Vihar area on Wednesday. The exact cause of death would be established after the post-mortem, but the preliminary information suggests a possible medical condition.
According to Delhi Police, they received a PCR call at about 9:52 AM regarding the incident. The 9-year-old student of Lovely Public School was rushed to Malik Redix Health Care in Nirman Vihar, where doctors declared her brought dead.
"During the preliminary investigation, police examined CCTV footage from the classroom, which showed the girl suddenly collapsing while inside the class," an officer said.
The CCTV footage of the classroom shows the girl standing alone before suddenly collapsing. The police have launched an investigation and are recording the statements of parents and school authorities. As part of the investigation, CCTV footage and other relevant evidence will be examined.
The footage shows the girl entering the classroom and placing her hand on her waist before suddenly falling to the ground. The teacher present in the classroom rushed to her and lifted her immediately. She tries to make her sit on the chair. The girl appears to be unconscious.
The video further shows the teacher rushing out of the classroom apparently seeking more help while others make efforts to revive her. The teacher then returns after some time and takes the child out of the room.
