Delhi SIR: Amid the EC-SIR row, the Election Commission on Saturday extended the deadline for Delhi electors to file SIR-related claims and objections by one month or till October 30 and fixed November 30 as the last date for disposal of notices and claims and objections.

The earlier deadline for Delhi electors, whose names were missing in the draft electoral roll, to file Form-6 along with supporting documents was September 30.

If you are someone who received a notice during the ongoing SIR process because your details are unmapped or have errors, you do not need to visit the election office. Instead, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) will visit your home to collect your documents and upload them online for the Election Registration Officer (ERO) to review.

You will only be called for a hearing in rare, exceptional cases, which will preferably be conducted online, and any adult family member can attend on your behalf if needed.

Delhi SIR: How to Apply for corrections, inclusion or registration?

You can still apply for inclusion as a fresh elector by submitting a fresh application using Form 6. To apply online, follow these steps:

- Visit the Voters’ Services Portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in.

- Click on ‘Sign-up’ and register by entering the required details.

- Log in using your registered mobile number and password.

- Look for the ‘Forms’ section and select ‘Fill Form 6’.

1. Form 6: For inclusion of name in the electoral roll (new registration or re-inclusion if unmapped/deleted).

2. Form 7: For objecting to the inclusion of a name or seeking deletion of an entry.

3. Form 8: For corrections to existing electoral roll entries (shifting of residence, correction of particulars).

- Fill in all required information, including your state, district, parliamentary constituency, personal and family details, contact information, Aadhaar details, gender, date of birth, address, and declaration.

- Upload the necessary supporting documents.

- Review the form carefully and submit it once all details are verified.

- After successful submission, an acknowledgement number will be generated, which can be used to track the status of your application.
