Jagran Correspondent, Khanna (Ludhiana): Hours after a Srinagar-bound bus was attacked in Haryana's Karnal district, a similar incident occurred near Doraha town in Punjab's Ludhiana district around 11:50 PM on Sunday.

Unidentified assailants pelted stones at the Delhi-Srinagar bus, shattering a window pane. While approximately 35 passengers were present inside the vehicle, including women, children, and elderly travellers, no injuries were reported. Police teams rushed to the scene upon receiving information and escorted the vehicle out of their jurisdiction under heavy security cover.

Personal Rivalry Suspected

Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Rakesh Kumar Yadav said that the vehicle belongs to the same private transport company whose bus was attacked a day earlier in Karnal, where four passengers were injured, and the driver was assaulted.

Because two buses from the same company were targeted twice, investigators suspect a case of personal or business rivalry. Punjab Police are examining CCTV footage of the area and collaborating with Haryana Police, who have already arrested two suspects in connection with the Saturday incident.
