Good news for commuters travelling between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The construction of the interchange connecting the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) with the Yamuna Expressway is expected to be completed by October 15. The interchange is expected to reduce the travel distance between the two expressways by approximately 20 km.
To facilitate travel for people from Western Uttar Pradesh, Faridabad and Gurugram attending the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS), YEIDA is making efforts with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to open the interchange on a limited scale.
The interchange is being constructed near Jaganpur Afzalpur village and will feature four loops and eight ra
mps, with a total length of 13.308 km which will be spread across 83 hectares. The project is being built at an estimated cost of around Rs 500 crore.
The interchange will not only connect the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Yamuna Expressway but will also link the two corridors with YEIDA's 60-metre-wide road.
Last month, NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav inspected the construction progress and directed officials to complete the work at the earliest.
YEIDA Seeks Limited Opening Ahead of UPITS
The interchange is expected to eliminate the need for drivers to travel via Greater Noida when switching between the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Yamuna Expressway, reducing the journey by around 20 km.
With UPITS scheduled to begin on September 25, YEIDA is seeking permission from the NHAI to open the interchange on a limited basis. If approved, vehicles travelling from Faridabad and Ghaziabad on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway could exit directly onto the Yamuna Expressway.

The move is expected to save commuters both time and distance and provide easier access to the UP International Trade Show.
YEIDA CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh stated that the final decision on the matter will be taken by the NHAI itself.
