Congress workers staged a protest outside the ancestral residence of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Agra’s Vijay Nagar Colony on Monday morning, demanding his resignation. The workers allegedly blackened the gate of Kumar’s house and wrote ‘Gaddar (traitor)’ on it.

The demonstration was led by Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Organisation General Secretary Anil Yadav and Mathura District Congress President Mukesh Dhangar. The protesters reached the residence around 11 am carrying banners and raising slogans against the Chief Election Commissioner.

During the protest, the workers allegedly blackened the gate of the house with paint and wrote slogans such as ‘traitor ’ and ‘vote chor’on it.

The protesters stayed at the spot briefly before leaving. No police personnel were present at the time of the demonstration. After the protesters left, police reached the location and reportedly cleaned the graffiti and paint marks from the gate.

Police Begin Probe To Identify Protesters

Police are now attempting to identify those involved in the protest using photographs and videos circulating online, along with footage from nearby CCTV cameras.

Following the demonstration, Congress leaders from Agra also marched from Subhash Park to the Collectorate, where party workers, including leaders from Mathura and Anil Yadav, raised slogans and submitted their demands.

Officials said the investigation into the protest and the identification of those involved are underway.
