A Rs 4.5 lakh motorcycle was allegedly stolen from the basement parking of C-Tower at Gaur City 7th Avenue in Greater Noida West, with the entire incident captured on the society’s CCTV camera. The theft has sparked anger among residents, who have questioned the security arrangements in the high-rise society.

A video of the incident has been going viral on social media. In the video, the suspected thief is seen entering the basement parking area and taking away the motorcycle. The CCTV footage reportedly captures the movement of the suspect during the theft, and police are examining the footage to identify the person.

The motorcycle belonged to Mayank Rana, a resident of the society. He had parked it in the basement on Sunday and discovered it missing when he went to check on Monday morning. Residents allege that outsiders can move around the basement without difficulty, raising questions over the society’s security system.

According to residents, this is the eighth theft incident reported in the society in the last two years. A few months ago, thieves allegedly stole goods worth lakhs from a locked flat, adding to concerns over security in the complex.

The latest incident has left residents angry and anxious, with several demanding increased police patrolling and a change in the security agency. They have also questioned how outsiders are able to enter and move around the premises despite the society having security arrangements in place.

Bisrakh police station in-charge Ranjeet Singh said a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. He said efforts are underway to identify the suspect with the help of the CCTV footage.

Residents have also questioned the security of vehicles parked in the basement, saying the theft of a Rs 4.5 lakh motorcycle despite CCTV coverage has raised serious concerns about the effectiveness of the existing security arrangements.
