Gurugram Hit-And-Run: Kalyan Singh Bainsla, the prime accused in the Gurugram biker hit-and-run case, were sent to judicial custody for 14 days, the officials stated. A group of men were seen playing loud music and rallying in cars on Friday in support of the Gurugram biker hit-and-run accused. In the viral video, the participants were seen raising casteist slogans and claimed that Bainsla has been falsely framed in the case. A mahapanchayat was also called in favor of the accused, with people from nearby cities participating in the event.
Effort To Change Narrative: Sia
While reacting to these videos, victim Sia, whose real name is Shivani Chauhan, stated that this was an effort to change the narrative. She stated that she was unaware of Bainsla's identity at the time of the accident, further demanding strong action. Sia also stated that the incident should not be linked with any community and that every section of society should come together.
"It hurts me when we divide wrongdoings on the basis of community," Sia was quoted as saying by the Times of India. "When this incident happened, I did not know his name, where he belonged or his caste. This is not about caste. All these things being done to change the narrative are illogical. If we do not take strict action today, we will be responsible for leaving people free to kill others on the road," the victim added.
'Criminal Has No Religion'
Apart from this, Sia's father stated that a criminal has no religion and caste, further demanding detention of the remaining accused. "I have no idea what specific issue they intend to discuss by gathering their community. But the matter at hand is simply a crime; the perpetrator could be anyone—a criminal has no religion. That is the mindset," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Earlier, the state police revealed that Bainsla and his friends were returning from a club and confronted with the bikers on their way. He followed Sia for over two kilometers and allegedly rammed her motorcycle after she denied stopping after being asked to stop.
