Water supply will remain disrupted across several parts of Gurugram for 24 hours from Friday, October 23, as the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) undertakes infrastructure upgrade work at the Sector 16 Boosting Station.
According to a public notice issued by the GMDA on Wednesday, the shutdown will begin at 10 am on October 23 and continue until 10 am on Saturday, October 24. The work is required for the construction of a new pump house, which will necessitate a temporary halt in water supply to several residential sectors, villages and commercial areas.
The planned shutdown is expected to affect a wide network of localities across the city. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make arrangements in advance and use available water supplies carefully during the disruption.
Villages, Residential Sectors Among Areas To Be Affected
The water supply disruption will affect several villages and localities, including Basai, Kadipur, Sarhol, Chakarpur, Nathupur, Sikanderpur and Sukrali. The Gaushala Booster area will also be affected during the shutdown.
Several residential and urban sectors are likely to face interruptions, including Sectors 10A, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18, as well as Sectors 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32.
The affected areas further include Sectors 34, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 and 43, along with Civil Lines and Hans Enclave. Residents of DLF Phase IV, Cyber City, Udyog Vihar Phases II to V, South City 1, Sushant Lok and areas along MG Road have also been advised to prepare for the disruption.
GMDA Advises Residents To Conserve Water
With the shutdown scheduled to last 24 hours, officials have urged residents to avoid unnecessary water consumption and store sufficient water for essential household needs before the work begins.
"All residents in these areas are advised to use water judiciously to avoid complete dry conditions", PTI quoted officials.
Residents are advised to plan their daily water requirements in advance, particularly for drinking, cooking, cleaning and other essential activities. The supply is scheduled to resume at 10 am on October 24, subject to the completion of the planned work.
