In an unusual case, a man said he received a complex maths question while attempting to check his PNR status in the IRCTC app. The Indian Railways app gives an addition or subtraction sum to a user before they can access their ticket status. However, this X user said that he received a difficult question involving big calculations for checking the status.
Sharing a post on X, the user shared the screenshot of the difficult sum. The alleged question asked to be solved was (9876 × 543 − 2468) ÷ 4 = ? before they could check their ticket details on the website. While the CAPTCHA can reportedly be changed using the reload option, the complexity of the equation left the user jokingly confused.
The X user shared the image with the caption, “PNR status hi toh check kr rha, maaf kar do" (I’m just checking my PNR status; please forgive me). He shared another post, saying, “IRCTC captcha k math question hard aane lage hai (The math questions on the IRCTC website have become hard)."

The social media post gradually caught attention; netizens found the situation amusing. Social media users joked about Indian Railways making sure that people know maths.

Meanwhile, a user said that the screenshot might be fake. “Captcha is supposed to be a small wall to defend the system from bots but the Captcha like this are easy to solve by bots rather than average humans. Foreign sites are creating high level Captcha meanwhile indian developers are busy in making Captcha which are difficult for us," the comment read.
