In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner and buried in the garden of their rented house in Rajasthan's Jaipur, police said on Sunday.
The man, Pravesh (22), allegedly fled the scene after committing the crime. The matter came to light after the landlord, who came to inspect the property at Prestige Colony in the Bindayaka area.
The landlord allegedly found the house locked and noticed a woman's hand protruding from the ground with signs of freshly dug soil in the garden.
Speaking about the case, Bindayaka Station House Officer Anil Kumar said that Praveen had rented the house about two months ago and had introduced the woman, Kiran, as his wife.

Both belonged to Uttar Pradesh. Preliminary police assessment suggests that Pravesh allegedly murdered Kiran two to three days ago. He dug a pit in the garden at night and buried her body.
The SHO said that he then locked the house and fled the house. The landlord arrived on Sunday. Initially, he inquired with neighbours and then checked the premises. He noticed that soil in the garden was freshly dug.
Upon close examination, he saw a woman's hand protruding from the ground. Alarmed by the finding, he immediately alerted the police.
The cops rushed to the site and exhumed the body with the help of a forensics team. Kiran's body was sent for post-mortem at Kanwatia Hospital.
The investigating police said that Pravesh used to work at a factory in Bindayaka. Police teams have been formed to track him down. Police are also trying to contact the woman's family in Uttar Pradesh.
The motive behind the murder and other circumstances of the case are under investigation, police said.
