In the latest development in the Kalkaji minor gangrape case, police revealed that one of the main suspects, identified as Asif, was a former police informant. The 17-year-old survivor provided key physical descriptions during the investigation, stating that Asif sexually assaulted her at knifepoint inside the park on her birthday. Police noted that Asif is a repeat offender who was previously arrested in 2025 for robbing an American citizen at knifepoint near the same location.
While filing the complaint at the Amar Colony police station, the 17-year-old victim revealed that the three accused were about 30-35 years old. One of them was wearing a purple shirt, while the second was seen wearing a black shirt. The third accused was wearing a red shirt. Analysing the information, the police identified Asif.

What Does The FIR Mention?
The 17-year-old mentioned in the FIR that she planned to visit Kalkaji Mandir with one of her male friends and later wanted to go to the ISCKON Temple too. She told police that she left her home in an auto around 5 pm and reached the temple at around 5:45 pm. The two remained there until around 7 pm before buying chips and water near Kalkaji Metro Station, News 18 reported.
The survivor said she and her friend subsequently entered Aastha Kunj Park through Gate No. 7. She told police that she suggested they sit on a bench, eat the chips and then continue towards the ISKCON temple. According to her FIR statement, three men aged between 30 and 35 approached them shortly after they sat down. She alleged that the men grabbed her friend and slapped him before claiming to be cops and questioning them about their presence in the park.
The survivor stated that one of the men led her friend away after taking both of their mobile phones. Two of the men then directed her to move toward a nearby bushy area.
Frightened, she asked to remain where they were and offered to call her mother, according to the statement.She added that one man told the other, “Asif bhai gun nikal.” She described Asif as the heavily built man in the purple shirt.
The girl said that Hemu and Deepu also subsequently raped her while keeping a knife at her neck. After the alleged assaults, the men then brought her friend back and returned their mobile phones. As per the statement, the accused threatened the two and told them to leave immediately, warning that they would be killed if they disclosed what had happened.
The survivor said that after they were taken out of the park, she told her friend about the alleged rape. Her friend then called the police control room (PCR), following which police personnel reached the spot.
