Days after the Jamui molestation case, a similar incident from several months ago has surfaced in Bihar's Kishanganj district. A four- to five-month-old video is circulating on social media showing a group of young men surrounding, interrogating, and physically assaulting a young woman. The video has prompted swift police action and an ongoing manhunt for multiple suspects.
The 52-second clip is from the Tulsia Railway Station area under the jurisdiction of the Dighalbank police station. In the footage, the youths are reportedly seen mistreating the woman and questioning her about an alleged relationship with a man from a different religion. One individual forcibly holds the woman's hand while the crowd closes in around her.
A man on a motorcycle, reported to be an acquaintance of the woman, is also being questioned in the video. Although the duo were repeatedly asked about their religion, the man used hand gestures to deny having a romantic relationship.
While online claims initially linked the viral footage to severe molestation and forced interrogation, initial police findings clarified that the incident did not involve molestation, as per Kishanganj SP Santosh Kumar.
Police Action
According to News18, local authorities took immediate cognisance of the video overnight. The Kishanganj police registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) based on the victim's application at the Dighalbank police station on Friday.
Police have arrested one suspect identified as Shehzad from Dahibhat Jagir on Friday night based on technical analysis and available evidence. He is currently undergoing police interrogation, while efforts are underway to locate the remaining four suspects.

Police stated that the video is approximately four to five months old. Investigations revealed that the young woman had gone to meet a friend accompanied by her sister, though the sister is not visible in the footage.
This incident follows a series of recent viral-video controversies across Bihar, including Jamui, Samastipur, and Banka. In Jamui, a video surfaced on September 19 showing two Class 10 students being harassed by a group of individuals on a roadside while returning from coaching classes.
