At least eight people were killed after a car carrying devotees was swept away by the strong current of a rainwater drain near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Madhya Pradesh. The deceased include three children, two women, and three men. The identities of the deceased have not been established yet.

Reports say that the people travelling in the car had arrived to visit the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda. While crossing a rainwater drain near the temple, the vehicle was caught in a powerful surge while crossing a nearby rainwater drain. The strong currents quickly overpowered the vehicle, sweeping it away.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local police and administration arrived at the scene. Police began rescue and relief operations, removing the car and bodies from the drain. Police are currently investigating the circumstances and cause of the accident.
