In a major update, Central Railways announced it will operate a mega block on its suburban network on Sunday, October 4. The block is aimed undertake engineering and maintenance works, affecting services on the Main and Harbour lines.

Timings For Main and Harbour Line Blocks

Central Railway (CR) said that the block will be operated on the CSMT-Vidhyavihar UP and DOWN slow lines on the main line from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm. On the Harbour line, the UP and DOWN lines between Panvel and Vashi, excluding the PORT line, will be blocked from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm, as per the Central Railway.On the main line, DOWN slow services departing CSMT between 10.48 am and 3.45 pm will be diverted to the DOWN fast line between CSMT and Vidhyavihar.

These services will halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla before being diverted back to the DOWN slow line at Vidhyavihar. UP slow services departing Ghatkopar between 10:19 am and 3:52 pm will be diverted to the UP fast line between Vidhyavihar and CSMT.Officials further said that the diverted services will halt at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla.

On the Harbour line, UP services towards CSMT departing Panvel between 10:33 am and 3:49 pm and DOWN services towards Belapur/Panvel departing CSMT between 9:45 am and 3:12 pm will remain cancelled during the block.

Trans-Harbour line services affected

Trans-Harbour line services will also be affected by the mega block. UP services toward Thane departing Panvel from 11:02 am to 3:53 pm, and DOWN services toward Panvel departing Thane from 10:01 am to 3:20 pm, will be cancelled.

To assist commuters, Central Railway will run special local trains between CSMT and Vashi during the block. Trans-Harbour services will continue to operate between Thane and Vashi/Nerul, while services on the PORT line will remain available during the block. Central Railway further urged the passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with the railway administration.

CR announces special trains for Sekhon IAF Marathon

Central Railway will operate two special suburban services on the night of October 3–4 for participants attending the Sekhon Indian Airforce Marathon 2026, held in memory of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. Kalyan–CSMT Special (Main Line) departs Kalyan at 2:30 AM on October 4, arriving at CSMT at 4:00 AM.Panvel–CSMT Special (Harbour Line) departs Panvel at 2:40 AM on October 4, arriving at CSMT at 4:00 AM.Both special trains will halt at all stations along their respective routes.
