Navi Mumbai Water Outage: In a major update for the residents, water supply in several parts of Navi Mumbai will remain affected for 16 hours till Wednesday. As per the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), the water supply will be disrupted due to works at and around the Bhokarpada Water Treatment Plant. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
While providing details, the civic body stated that the water supply in many regions will remain disrupted from 10 am on Tuesday till 2 am on Wednesday. While the works will be completed in the early hours of Wednesday, the flow of water will not be usual throughout the day on October 7. The NMMC stated that the works are being conducted to improve the water supply after receiving multiple complaints in the past few months.
THESE Regions To Remain Affected
The water supply will remain disrupted in several regions, including Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe-Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli and Airoli for the two days. Apart from this, the residents of Kharghar and Kamothe nodes of the CIDCO area will also face inconveniences, the authority stated.
The NMMC stated that the water supply is likely to be at low pressure on Wednesday despite the completion of works in the early hours. The residents of these regions have been advised to make the necessary arrangements and store sufficient water for two days. However, the water supply is expected to be regularized from Thursday, providing a major relief to the residents.
NMMC To Conduct Crucial Works
The NMMC, during the next two days, will install an MS plate to disconnect the channel of the 13.5 ML-capacity sump at the Bhokarpada Water Treatment Plant. Apart from this, new metering kiosks will also be installed at the plant to improve the water supply in these regions.
