Odisha SIR: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha concluded on Monday with the publication of the final voter list.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Odisha Chief Electoral Officer R S Gopalan stated that names of 20.56 lakh electors were removed after verification. The state's total electorate now stands at 3,16,32,754 (3.16 crore), comprising 16,130,319 male voters, 15,499,661 female voters, and 2,774 third-gender voters.

How To Check Your Name On The Final Electoral Roll?

Voters can check their names in the final voter list through the following steps:

- https://voters.eci.gov.in

- ceoodisha.nic.in

- ECINET app

- At local election offices, including AERO, SDO, BDO and DM offices.

What To Do If Your Name Is Deleted From The Electoral Roll?

If your name does not appear on the final voter list, authorities allow you to file an appeal or submit a fresh registration application.

Appeals can be filed:

  • First Appeal: File with the District Collector.
  • Second Appeal: File with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).

While officials said that no appeals have been lodged yet, affected citizens can re-apply using Form 6.

Step-By-Step To Re-Apply

Online Method

  • Visit voters.eci.gov.in or open the Voter Helpline App.
  • Log in and select Form 6 (Application for New Voter Registration)
  • Enter your personal details, current residential address, and Assembly Constituency.
  • Upload clear copies of: Passport-sized photograph; Age and Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Birth Certificate, or Passport); Address Proof (Aadhaar Card, Utility Bill, Bank Passbook, or Passport).
  • Submit the application and save the Reference ID to track your status online.

Offline Method

  • Obtain a physical copy of Form 6 from your local Booth Level Officer (BLO), Tehsildar Office, or Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) Office.
  • Complete the form and attach self-attested photocopies of your photograph, identity proof, and address proof.
  • Submit the completed application directly to your local BLO or ERO.

What Happens Next

A local BLO will conduct a physical visit to your residence to verify your address. Once approved by the ERO, your name will be added to the electoral roll.
