Hours after their release from judicial custody, Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka appeared in a video posted by Abhijeet Dipke on social media, reiterating their longstanding demand of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.

In the video, the two CJP leaders echoed, "Bharat Mata ki Jai, Inquilab Zindabad and Gyanu (Gyanesh Kumar) must go."

Das and Ranka were released on bail by the order of the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) from Mandir Marg Police Station on Wednesday after they submitted an undertaking affirming no future protest call to Jantar Mantar till the time it remains de-notified.

The two also expressed faith in the judiciary in their undertaking and vowed to maintain peace. The bail was granted after their sureties were rejected by the SEM court on October 19 due to discrepancies and doubts in their submission's ability to ensure compliance. Their 5-day judicial custody was further increased by two days subsequently.

They were taken into custody on October 13 for trespassing at Jantar Mantar and sloganeering with other protesters, which the SEM court cited as a breach of the bond they furnished during their release from an earlier detention on October 11.

The trespassing was considered a breach of bond as the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had a day earlier (October 12) de-notified Jantar Mantar as a designated protest site.

While the CJP maintained they unfurled the national flag without disturbing peace, the breach of bond was invoked by the police over illegal trespassing and an act that could disturb peace.

Das and Ranka had also reached the Delhi High Court after their first judicial custody was extended for two days on October 19. The court, on Wednesday, didn't grant them any relief, making sharp observations that barricades are put for a purpose and a breach by them could prompt their followers to follow, which could eventually hurt peace. The court also observed that there was no need to approach the HC as SEM court was scheduled to hear the matter on same day. The CJP leaders had withdrawn the plea accordingly.
