Delhi and Mumbai police have made a shocking discovery during their investigation into the firing incident at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's car, indicating an involvement of a dangerous and sophisticated syndicate in delivering weapons to the shooters.

The syndicate allegedly used a 'dead letter box' technique akin to spy thriller films. The probe so far revealed that Kunal and Sumit had handed over the weapons and cartridges to Radha and Babita, who transported them to Mumbai.

Kunal and Sumit had allegedly picked up the arms and ammunition from Amritsar based on instructions from Anil Pandit, the close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi.

While looking into the links on how the two got the weapons, the police have hit a dead end, as police sources, cited by Jagran.com, suggest that it was a dead letter box.

What is dead letter box?

A dead letter box is a technique used by criminals to evade intelligence and hence takes the probe to highly sophisticated levels. The technique basically works on ensuring no personal contact while delivering an object. In this, a person drops the goods in this case, weapons and cartridges) at a location known only to the facilitator and the person picking it up.

The technique was used to hide the weapons in a secret location in Amritsar from where Kunal and Sumit procured them.

According to police investigations and information from sources, the duo had visited Amritsar about two weeks ago to collect weapons. The secret location was shared with them by Anil Pandit through an encrypted chatting app.

Kunal then persuaded his girlfriend Radha to transport the weapons. Radha and Babita were also in contact with Kunal through the encrypted chat app.
