Commuters travelling from Delhi towards Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as the Delhi-Sonipat stretch of National Highway 44 (NH-44) will remain closed during the night from September 22 to 25.

According to a traffic advisory, the restriction has been imposed due to the ongoing construction of a foot-over bridge near the Kundli border. The road will not remain closed throughout the day, with the restriction in place only between 11 PM and 5 AM.

Traffic movement will be partially affected along a stretch of around 400 metres of the main carriageway during the four-day period. Vehicles will be diverted to designated service roads whenever required to ensure safety and maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

Police personnel will be deployed at the site to regulate traffic and maintain law and order. Sonipat Police has urged vehicle owners and drivers to plan their journeys in advance and use only the designated alternative routes.

Commuters have also been asked to strictly follow the directions issued by traffic personnel deployed at the site to avoid inconvenience and ensure smooth movement during the construction work.

In a separate traffic advisory, traffic arrangements have also been changed in Gautam Buddh Nagar on Sunday. In view of the ‘Prerna Vimarsh 2026’ event being held at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, the traffic police have issued a detailed advisory.

Under the new arrangement, the movement of heavy, medium and light goods vehicles (HGVs, MGVs and LGVs) will be completely restricted from 7 AM to 10 PM on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and roads around the event venue.

Under the revised arrangements, vehicles travelling towards Pari Chowk or Zero Point from Chilla Red Light, Mahamaya Flyover, DND Toll and Film City will be diverted through Rajnigandha Chowk, Sector 18 and the Sector 37 underpass towards the Bhangel Elevated Road and Kulesara-Surajpur routes.

Similarly, vehicles travelling from Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway towards Noida will be diverted from Pari Chowk via Surajpur Tiraha, Kulesara and Phase 2.

For commuters driving from Sectors 151, 152 and 132, designated cuts have been identified as alternative routes.
