In another Meerut blue drum murder like incident, a woman, with the help of her lover, killed her husband by bludgeoning his head with a grinding stone in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao on Tuesday. They then stuffed the body into a metallic box and dumped it 15 km away in Lalaukheda, Sadar area, on the service lane of the Unnao-Lalganj highway.
The police were alarmed to get the information about a metallic box in the middle of the road. The cops reached the site and uncovered a male body of a 25-year-old, later identified as Sonu Savita, who used to work as a labourer. After the body was found, the police launched the investigation and started analysing nearby CCTV cameras. A loader was spotted bringing the metallic box to the site, which led police to the accused.
The woman, Neha, originally from Lucknow, was married to Jitendra 23 years ago. They have five daughters together. However, eight years back, Neha came in contact with Sonu, married him and started living with him in the Gangaghat area of Unnao.
They have a five-year-old son. However, Sonu was addicted to drugs, which escalated conflict between them. The police said Neha, with the help of a neighbouring tenant, Jitendra Singh alias Rahul, hatched a plot to murder Sonu.
Rahul is reported to be the lover of Neha. At first, the two attacked Sonu with a rod and baton and then crushed his head with a grinding stone. The two later suffocated him to death with a blanket.
