For an entrepreneur, getting 90 seconds to pitch the idea to the Prime Minister is a rare opportunity. Tejas Sudarshan, founder of AI startup Winsen Labs, got that chance during PM Modi's Chennai Metro ride on October 11. In the brief interaction, he presented his ideas on how Artificial Intelligence could help students gain practical experience and make government services easily accessible through a unified, AI-powered service desk.
He further explained the complete pitch through his YouTube videos. Sudarshan was among the 17 founders chosen by the SPI Chennai for an interaction with the PM and other officials during a metro train trip between the airport and Poonamallee station.
What Were His Ideas?
Tejas explained his two ideas thoroughly via his YouTube videos. His first proposal was focused on helping students get better at using AI while solving real problems as part of their classes. He said that government departments could collaborate with universities and schools and provide practical projects to students. This approach would enable students to deal with real administrative challenges while maintaining full ownership of their results.
The second idea was centred around making government services easier with the help of a single AI-powered service desk. Under this setup, people would be able to submit their requests and documents just once, rather than going to multiple departments separately. The AI agent can then track these requests and forward them to the respective department automatically. This would reduce the human labour of visiting different departments and following separate processes to access government services.
With the evolution of AI, his ideas are both trend-setting and impactful for education and administration. However, these ideas have not been announced officially as government initiatives.
Who Is Tejas Sudarshan?
Tejas Parthasarathi Sudarshan started Winsen Labs in March 2026. It is an Artificial Intelligence company focused on solving real-world problems using AI. Based on his LinkedIn profile, he worked at KPMG India and started Fanpit, a different company, before launching Winsen Labs.
Tejas completed his bachelor’s in business and commerce from the University of Madras between 2018 and 2021. He also pursued the Chartered Accountancy qualification through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India between 2018 and 2022, according to his profile.
What Shaped Tejas Interest Towards Technology?
Talking about how his interest towards technology grew over the years, he wrote, "Nine years ago, in 2017, I remember standing in front of my entire school, delivering a speech as part of the School Pupil Leader elections. One of the things I spoke about was how we should introduce Google Classroom into our school. It was a fairly simple idea. Technology could help us learn better, so why weren't we using more of it?"
Almost nine years later, he was among the 17 founders to present his ideas in front of the Prime Minister. "Cut to 2026, almost exactly nine years later, and I found myself standing in front of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, talking about how we could make India's students more AI-native."
Recalling the interaction, Tejas said that the officials listened to his idea and asked questions before his allotted time was over. Further, he added that other shortlisted founders are working on a range of ideas from airport logistics and green propulsion systems for rockets to chip design.
