The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out coordinated raids at 12 locations spread over four states on Friday in connection with an alleged terror conspiracy that was being controlled by a Pakistani handler from across the border.
As per officials, raids were conducted at five locations in Uttar Pradesh, three in Maharashtra, and two each in Rajasthan and Bihar. The searches were carried out on individuals who were alleged to be involved in the terror module.
Investigators identified the accused mastermind as Pakistani agent Jasvir Chaudhary. The investigation had revealed that Jasvir Chaudhary and his Indian counterparts had organised the delivery of a large consignment of arms, explosives, ammunition, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) through drone drops along the Indo-Pakistan border.
Officials said the accused individuals were allegedly making arrangements for carrying out a series of blasts across the country- in Punjab, Delhi, and many other parts of India- using the arms and explosives to cause large-scale loss of life and property.
Sirsa Women Police Station Grenade Attack
In a separate case on Tuesday, NIA filed a chargesheet against nine accused involved in the 2025 grenade attack on a women's police station in the Sirsa district of Haryana.
The charge-sheeted individuals included two Pakistan-based handlers- Shahzad Bhatti and Sohail Ahmed alias Sohail Baloch- and some Indian operatives. They were booked under the stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the Explosive Substances Act.
As per the investigation, the grenade attack on a women's police station in Sirsa district of Haryana was a part of a large-scale plot allegedly masterminded by gangster-turned terrorist Shahzad Bhatti to attack police establishments across India to spread terror.
Investigation had also revealed that the accused individuals were allegedly indoctrinated through social media platforms and encrypted messaging apps before being recruited into the module.

Investigators identified the key Indian operative who was controlling the module as Dheeraj, and alleged that the individuals had conducted a recce for selecting the target- Sirsa women police station- and procured grenades from Punjab.
The grenade attack, which was conducted on November 25, 2025, was reportedly filmed through mobile phones to spread terror among people. The NIA said its operations to apprehend the remaining absconding accused are still ongoing to uncover further leads into the case.
