Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the NDA Parliamentary meeting comprising the newly elected members of the alliance. As the meeting began, senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh proposed Narendra Modi’s name as the leader of the BJP and National Democratic Alliance in Lok Sabha. Narendra Modi was elected as the Leader of Lok Sabha, Leader of the BJP and Leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party.
At the Parliamentary meeting, Janata Dal-United (JDU) Chief Nitish Kumar praised Narendra Modi and lashed out at the INDIA bloc, claiming that the alliance never worked for the nation.
"Agli baar jab aap aaiye toh kuch log jo idhar udhar jeet gaya hai, agli baar sab haarega. Humko poora bharosa hai (Those who have won this time will lose the next elections. I'm confident about it). They never worked for the nation. They never served the country. The country will progress under your (PM Modi) leadership" said Nitish.
Prime Minister Modi and the other leaders at the parliamentary meeting could not stop laughing at the jibe of Nitish Kumar at the INDIA Bloc.
The JDU chief further in his remarks at the NDA meeting affirmed his support towards PM Narendra Modi saying, "All the pending works of Bihar will be done. It is a very good thing that all of us have come together and we will all work together with you (PM Modi). You will be swearing in as the Prime Minister on Sunday, but I wanted you to do it today itself. Whenever you take the oath, we will be with you...We will all work together under your leadership..."
Nitish Kumar's declaration of support for Narendra Modi was also an answer to the rumours that he had been contacted by the INDIA alliance, which had won 232 seats.
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, at the parliamentary meeting, said, "I have been in politics for the last four decades I have seen so many leaders. I can give the entire credit to Narendra Modi ji for making India proud globally. That is his biggest achievement for the country. Under his leadership, we have reached the fifth-largest economy in the world. Now, we are confident during this tenure he is going to make India, the third-largest economy in the world. At the same time, he is planning Viksit Bharat Vision 2047. Under his leadership, if you go anywhere in the world, the highest per capita income is earned by Indians. I am confident. Under his leadership, Indians are going to become global leaders in the near future."
After being chosen by the BJP-led NDA alliance as their leader to become India’s Prime Minister for the third time, PM Modi said, "Sarkar chalaane ke liye bahumat aavashyak hai. Loktantra ka wahi ek siddhant hai. Lekin desh chalane ke liye sarvmat bahut zaroori hota hai. I assure the people of the country that the majority they gave us to run the government, it will be our effort that we will strive towards consensus and leave no stone unturned towards taking the country forward. NDA has completed around 3 decades, it is no ordinary thing. I can say that this is the most successful alliance."
After electing Modi as the leader of NDA, some senior members of the alliance like TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U)’s Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi are scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu to submit her the list of parliamentarians supporting him and stake claim to form the government.
