Noida International Airport: Commercial flight operations from the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida, are set to begin next month. After Indian carrier IndiGo, Akasa Air has also opened ticket bookings from the new airport. The airline has initially started bookings for flights to Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai.

The development is expected to enhance travel convenience for passengers across the region and boost commercial activity at the airport. Akasa Air’s operations from Noida International Airport are scheduled to commence on June 16.

Earlier, IndiGo had also announced the launch of passenger services from the airport. Flight schedules and operational details for passenger and cargo services by Akasa Air and Air India Express are expected to be announced soon. Authorities are preparing to connect Delhi-NCR passengers to key destinations including Navi Mumbai, Kashmir, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Goa.

Ever since the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) approved the airport’s security programme, anticipation around the launch of flight operations has continued to grow. The wait is likely to end with IndiGo beginning its services from June 15.

Meanwhile, airlines and airport authorities are working extensively to complete final preparations ahead of the commencement of passenger operations from the airport.
