Noida International Airport: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of the much-awaited Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. He was accompanied by Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Noida International Airport Phase 1 Opens: What's Ahead?

- According to a report by Jagran.com, the first phase of Noida International Airport has been completed on 1,334 hectares, featuring a 3,900-meter-long and 45-meter-wide runway.

- Plans call for further expansion to six runways in the future. Once fully completed, Jewar Airport will span 5,100 hectares, becoming Asia's largest airport, approximately two and a half times the size of Indira Gandhi International Airport.

- With the completion of the second phase in 2032, the airport will expand to 7,200 metres, becoming the largest airport in India.

- The third phase is expected to be completed between 2036 and 2037.

- Upon the completion of the fourth phase of construction in 2050, Noida International Airport will become Asia's largest airport, featuring world-class infrastructure capable of handling massive passenger traffic.

The estimated cost of Noida International Airport is Rs 29,561 crore, with construction planned in four phases, stretching until 2050. Once fully completed, the airport will feature six runways and span 5,100 hectares, becoming Asia's largest airport.
