Days after the phase 1 polls for the Chhattisgarh Assembly election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Monday that the Congress rule will end in the state and thanked people for voting in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking at a rally in Mungeli, he said that the time has come for the farewell of those Congress leaders who have looted for five years, and the public does not want Congress anymore.
"The countdown of the Congress' 'bidai' has begun now...The time has come for the farewell of those Congress leaders who have looted you for 5 years. The public of the state is more eager for the 'bidai' of Congress from the state...The public doesn't want Congress anymore," PM Modi said during the Vijay Sankalap Maharally in Mungeli.
PM Modi also promised that if the BJP comes to power in the Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, the state will develop rapidly and the dreams of youth will be fulfilled rapidly.
Speaking about the Mahadev betting app scam, he said that Congress should reveal how much money the CM received. He also added that the government has recovered loads of cash in this case, and a close aide of the state chief minister is in jail.
Meanwhile, a case against 32 people including the promoter of the Mahadev betting app has been lodged by Mumbai's Matunga police for alleged fraud and gambling, reports ANI.
Lashing out at Congress, PM Modi said that it can do anything in the greed of vote bank and appeasement and added that the Grand Old Party did not even respect the faith of Dalits, OBCs, and tribals. He also said that after decades of independence, if anyone in the country is poor, it's because of the Congress.
The result of the assembly polls in Chhattisgarh will be declared on December 3 with four other poll-bound states.
