Puri Rath Yatra 2025: If you’re planning to visit Puri by road during the upcoming Rath Yatra 2025, make sure to check the detailed traffic advisory released by the Puri Police. The guidelines aim to ensure the smooth movement of Lord Jagannath's chariots, manage heavy crowds, and maintain overall safety during the nine-day festival.

Authorities have deployed thousands of personnel and are using advanced surveillance systems to secure the area. With preparations in full swing, tight security has been put in place across Puri ahead of this grand religious event.

Traffic Routes & Parking Arrangements for Vehicles Entering Puri

For Tourist and Regular Buses

  • From Bhubaneswar: Buses will be allowed up to Malatipatapur Parking and must exit the same way.
  • From Brahmagiri: Can go till Flourish India Parking, with return via the same route.
  • From Konark: Allowed up to Swami Narayan Temple Parking, return along the same path.

Additional Bus Routes to Talabania Bus Stand:

  • From Bhubaneswar: Via Malatipatapur ROB, exit through Balighat–Samangara–Batagaon.
  • From Konark: Via Balighai–Baidas Nagar, return same way.
  • From Brahmagiri: Through Mangalaghat–Batagaon–Malatipatapur ROB–Baidas Nagar, return via Balighat–Samangara–Batagaon.

Traffic Plan for Four-Wheeler Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs)

From Bhubaneswar: Entry via Malatipatapur ROB–Baidas Nagar–Grid Station to Talabania-side parking zones.

Parking will be in this order: OLA Guest House -> Helipad -> ITI College -> Indoor Stadium -> Horticulture Field -> Hygienic Fish Market.

Once full, vehicles will be diverted to Sterling-side parking via Batagaon–Mangalaghat–Sterling.

From Konark: Entry allowed via Balighai–Baidas Nagar–Grid Station, with the same parking sequence as above.

From Brahmagiri: Vehicles to be parked at Sterling-side parking via Mangalaghat–Sterling Chhaka, in this order:

  • Sterling Chhaka Roadside
  • Sterling Chhaka Right Side
  • Sterling Chhaka Left Side
  • Saha College Parking

Two-Wheeler Parking Arrangements

From Bhubaneswar and Brahmagiri: Allowed up to Old Jagannath Ballav Parking (JBPC) on a first-come-first-served basis.

If full, vehicles will be directed to Matitota Helipad Ground and Matitota Playground Parking via Malatipatapur–Batagaon–Mangalaghat.

Exit Routes for Puri Rath Yatra:

From JBPC: Jatiababaji Chhaka -> Kumbharapada Police Station -> Atharanala -> Batagaon.

From Matitota: Exit via Mangalaghat.

From Konark: Allowed up to Blue Flag Beach and Hotel Neelachal Ashok Parking via Baidas Nagar–Grid Station–Helipad–Penthakata Chhaka–CT Road–Subhash Bose Chhaka.

Shuttle Service (Three-Wheelers) Routes

  • From Talabania: Route: Water Works Road -> Odisha Bakery -> Ram Mandir -> Ghoda Bazar.

Return via: Ram Mandir -> Shreekhestra Colony -> Mangala Mandir.

  • From Malatipatapur Side: Permitted till Atharanala via Batagaon Chhaka. Must return the same way.
  • From Brahmagiri Side: Three-wheelers allowed till Sterling via Mangalaghat, with return on the same route.
