He had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Mumbai, where his condition had been described as critical. The Tata Group, in a heartfelt statement, shared, "It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Ratan Tata. We, along with his brother, sister, family members, and all who admired him, are comforted by the immense love and respect he garnered throughout his life."
Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran expressed his sorrow, saying, "It is with deep grief that we bid farewell to Ratan Naval Tata. He was an extraordinary leader whose unparalleled contributions not only shaped the Tata Group but also left a lasting impact on the nation."
