Actor VTV Ganesh on Thursday cast his vote as polling is underway across all 234 assembly constituencies. He also expressed support for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), stating that he believes the party and its leader, Vijay, can bring change.

Speaking to news agency ANI, he said, "I cast my vote to TVK. Vijay is a perfect fit to upgrade the society, people and the system... I want him to become the CM".

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Tamil Nadu recorded a voter turnout of 37.56 per cent. Kumarapalayam in Namakkal recorded the highest voter turnout at 45.87 per cent, while Palayamkottai in Tirunelveli recorded the lowest voter turnout at 30.73 per cent.

"Extend polling hours by two hours: In view of the large surge of delayed voters due to travel disruptions, and long-queue waiting imperatives, polling must be extended till 8:00 pm across all affected constituencies," the letter reads.

The most commonly used document is the Elector's Photo Identity Card (EPIC), also known as voter ID. However, if you do not have a voter ID, you can still cast your vote by presenting any of the following approved alternative ID proofs:

- Aadhaar Card

- Passport

- Driving License

- PAN Card

- Other government-issued photo identification documents.
