As TVK emerges as the single largest leading party in Tamil Nadu elections, party leader Adhav Arjuna said, "We dedicate this victory to the Karur incident. As per ECI's latest tally, Vijay's TVK has won seven seats and DMK has secured victory in six seats.

After 18 rounds of counting, CM MK Stalin is trailing behind TVK's VS Babu by over 8,000 votes in Kolathur.

According to ECI tally, DMK has won three seats, TVK and Congress have won one seats each.

As TVK maintains lead, supporters have hailed party's performance. A supporter said, "He will do good for the state; if not, we can change him next time."

According to ECI tally, DMK candidate Dhravidamani M has won from Gudalur seat.

As per the latest ECI trends, TVK is leading in 108 seats, AIADMK in 54 seats.

As per latest ECI trends, TVK is currently leading in 109 seats of the total 234 in the state.

The supporters of TVK have begun gathering outside the office of TVK after the trends confirmed that the party is set to emerge as the single largest party.

The trends have suggested that the DMK's chances of return to power in Tamil Nadu is thin as the TVK has emerged as the single largest party. The supporters of DMK have gone silent across the state as the day progresses. 

After counting of 11 rounds, the newly formed party has maintained lead in Thanjavur constituency (Thanjavur district) by over 12,000 votes.

The AIADMK alliance raised several issues, including alleged poor law and order, especially in the rural regions, inflation, and corruption. The ruling alliance is banking on its beneficiary schemes, strong governance, and its stand on the regional identity.

The workers and supporters of the newly formed TVK has begun celebrations across the state as the trends suggest that it would emerge as the single largest party.

The trend suggests that the newly formed TVK is set to become the single largest party in Tamil Nadu. While Vijay's party is yet to cross the majority mark, it could form a government with AIADMK.

The newly formed TVK has continued to maintain its lead over DMK and AIADMK in Valparai after four rounds of voting.

DMK Chief MK Stalin has continued to trail from Kolathur even after three rounds of voting. While Stalin has got 10,639 votes, TVK's VS Babu has got over 12,000 votes.

TVK national spokesperson Felix Gerald on Monday asserted that the newly formed party will create history in Tamil Nadu.

The party workers of DMK were seen removing tents and pandals from the headquarters of DMK as the party trails far behind TVK and AIADMK in the trends.

As per the early trends, Coimbatore South has witnessed a close contest between DMK and TVK. While DMK's candidate Senthil Balaji has got 3,481 votes, TVK's Senthilkumar has got 3,213 votes till now.

DMK chief MK Stalin, despite a strong campaign, continues to trail from Kolathur against the TVK candidate. 

The ruling party DMK, after two rounds of counting, is trailing against the rivals in Thiruverumbur constituency by over 1,000 votes.

Actor-turned politician Vijay has surprised the pollsters by emerging as the single largest party in the early trends. The newly formed party has outperformed the traditional parties DMK and AIADMK. 

As per the early trends, the TVK is ahead in Velachery by getting 3,826 votes as of 10 AM. The Congress and AIADMK have also got over 2,000 votes.

AIADMK, led by EPS, is leading in Karur seat in the early trends against TVK and DMK. The seat came into the limelight after the Karur stampede during a rally of Vijay.

As per the trends, TVK has emerged as the single largest party in Tamil Nadu. The party could form a government if it joins hands with AIADMK, another opposition party. 

As per the early trends, Vijay's TVK has emerged as the single largest party by maintaining lead over 80 seats. While the DMK is leading on 59 seats, the AIADMK is ahead on 44 seats. 

AIADMK chief Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) has taken lead in the early trends in Edappadi constituency. The incumbent party has fielded Kasi C.

TVK founder Vijay is trailing in both Trichy East and Perambur constituencies as per the early trends. The exit polls predicted that the TVK could emerge as a kingmaker.

The counting of votes in Manapparai halted for few minutes after the space meant for DMK's counting agents was occupied by the workers of TVK.

Postal vote counting under way in Salem, Sivaganga, Erode districts. The counting for all the eight constituency of Erode district is underway at the counting centre in Karaikudi for Sivaganga district.

While the ruling party has taken lead on 38 seats, the opposition alliance is leading on 13 seats. Apart from this, the TVK is also leading on 3 seats.

The MK Stalin-led DMK has taken an early lead on 6 seats as the initial trends for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Result 2026 started to pour in. According to the trends, the main opposition, AIADMK, and the new entrant, TVK, have taken leads on 1 seat each.  

The counting of votes began on Monday across 234 assembly segments in Tamil Nadu. The results for the polls will be declared later today. 

Heavy three-layer security was deployed at Loyola College, Queen Mary's College and Anna University in Chennai to prepare for the vote count of the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Dozens of security personnel were deployed at the gate of the colleges, with barricades in place as officials checked every vehicle coming in.

Congress has pledged Rs 2,000 per month for every family, with direct cash transfers into the bank accounts of women. The scheme will cover all Ration Card holders across the state.

Chief Minister MK Stalin, along with the other top DMK leaders, strongly criticised the delimitation bill by alleging that the centre was trying to snatch the powers of the southern states. While the ruling party has been aggressive over the issue, the AIADMK and newly formed TVK have largely remained silent over the issue.

A higher voter turnout in Tamil Nadu has led to change in the government; however, a higher voter percentage of women could be a positive sign for the ruling party. The DMK has launched several beneficiary schemes for women and youth, potentially benefitting it in the polls.

Ahead of the counting, visuals have emerged from outside the residence of Tamil Nadu CM and DMK candidate from Kolathur, MK Stalin, in Chennai.

Earlier in the 2011 assembly election, the voting percentage increased significantly to over 78 per cent, leading to an embarrassing defeat for the DMK back then.

As per Axis My India, the voters, especially the youth, who are unsatisfied with MK Stalin's work have preferred TVK over AIADMK, showing a clear transition in the voting pattern.

As per the data shared by Axis My India, Vijay's party is surprisingly set to emerge as the single largest party by winning around 100 seats. The agency stated that a large section of voters, especially youth and women, have preferred TVK over the traditional parties.

While most of the pollsters have predicted a comfortable victory for the ruling alliance, some of the exit polls have asserted that Vijay's party could play the role of a kingmaker.

DMK, under the leadership of MK Stalin, has fought hard to retain its power in the southern state. The party has also raised the issue of regional identity and slammed the centre for tabling the delimitation bill.

Ahead of the counting for the Tamil Nadu election result, visuals have emerged from the TVK headquarters in the capital city Chennai.  

BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), expressed hope that she would emerge victorious after spending several years in politics.

"I'm heading out to the vote counting for the Mylapore Assembly Constituency.... I believe that today, I will receive a response to my many years of struggle in politics... Why am I contesting this, even after serving as Governor? Some say it's a thirst for position.. I have no concern for those who mock; my concern is only for those who suffer.. Yes, I contested not out of a thirst for position, but out of a thirst to provide help to those who suffer! Not just to be the voice of the Tamil people in the assembly, but to resonate as the voice of every Tamil woman... Not just as the voice of the Tamil land, but to echo as the voice of every Tamil woman—that is my wish... With the faith that God will grant victory and shower His grace, I set forth," she stated.

MDMK chief Vaiko, a key ally of DMK, has praised Vijay's TVK after most of the pollsters predicted that the newly formed party could win over 30 seats. "The TVK is a force to reckon with, and may produce surprising results," he asserted.

Vijay has raised several issues, including corruption, law and order, and unemployment. His campaign revolved especially around women and youth. He asserted that the DMK is his political enemy and the BJP is its ideological enemy. 

BJP has promised a monthly assistance of Rs 2,000 to all women heads of households and a one-time sum of Rs 10,000 to every household. The saffron party has contested with the AIADMK in the National Democratic Alliance on 27 seats.

MK Stalin, along with the other top DMK leaders, strongly criticised the bill by alleging that the centre was trying to snatch the powers of the southern states. While the ruling party has been aggressive over the issue, the AIADMK and newly formed TVK have largely remained silent over the issue.

The voting was held in a single phase on Thursday, with the southern state registering 85 per cent voter turnout, the highest ever since independence. The voting pattern of Tamil Nadu could be a matter of concern for the MK Stalin-led DMK alliance, as higher turnout has led to a change in government.

Tamil Nadu has been the centre of Dravidian politics, largely dominated by the DMK and AIADMK. However, the pollsters have predicted that Vijay has emerged as a third option for the voters. While some of the agencies have predicted Vijay to be a kingmaker, the Axis My India has predicted a majority for the two-year-old party.

The regional parties of Tamil Nadu, including Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), are also expected to play a key role in the next government's formation. While the PMK has a stronghold in the northern region of the state, the VCK is popular among the Dalit voters.

The counting for all the 234 constituencies is set to begin shortly. The polling was conducted in a single phase on April 23 after weeks of intensified campaigning. The MK Stalin-led DMK alliance has contested to return to power in the southern state. The AIADMK alliance has fought hard to return to power after five years. Apart from this, Vijay's TVK, in its first election, is also expecting to perform well.
