Telangana Municipal Election Results 2026 Live Updates: Congress Set For Landslide Win With 1346 seats; BRS Secures 720, BJP 261

In a first for the state’s municipal elections, a transgender woman has been elected to office, with Nagilla Sudhakar winning from Ward 1 of Chityala municipality in Nalgonda district.

Revanth Reddy-led Congress is set to sweep the Municipal Corporation elections in Telangana, with the grand old party leading in 90 municipalities out of the total 116. The main opposition BRS is ahead in 12 municipalities while the BJP has taken lead in only one. According to reports, 12 municipalities are witnessing a neck-and-neck contest.
