Desperate following the destruction of its network and the death of various family members during 'Operation Sindoor,' Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is conspiring to repeat the Pulwama incident in Jammu and Kashmir. The group may target vital installations or crowded places using a vehicle-borne suicide bomber or a suicide squad. Intelligence agencies have sent an alert regarding this new JeM plot to the Jammu and Kashmir state government. Taking cognizance of the alert, security arrangements have been tightened across the state, and all suspicious elements are being closely monitored.
Related sources stated that according to intelligence agencies, JeM could deploy a suicide bomber with a vehicle bomb in the Valley, particularly in South Kashmir, in the exact same manner used to target the CRPF convoy at Lethpora on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Pulwama on February 14, 2019.
According to intelligence sources, Jaish-e-Mohammed is planning attacks not only in Jammu and Kashmir but also in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. For this, the group has the full backing of Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI.

Sources added that vigilance has been stepped up in Jammu and Kashmir to foil the terror organisation's designs. Patrolling by security forces has been increased in all sensitive areas across the state. Vehicles passing through highways and other major roads are also being checked. Additionally, a database of vehicles stolen over the past few months is being prepared.
The concerned administration has been directed to prevent unauthorised parking of vehicles in any public places. Furthermore, all Station House Officers have been instructed to take immediate action upon detecting any suspicious activity in their areas, while simultaneously informing their senior officers.
