Jagran Correspondent | Bhopal: A major theft had taken place in retired judge Giribala Singh's house at Katara Hills in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. The burglary occurred on June 28, with thieves making off with gold and silver jewellery valued at an estimated Rs 25 lakh. The Special Investigation Team has launched an investigation into the theft. The police officials went to the jail to interrogate Giribala about the theft and obtained information about the lost items. The thieves was spotted in the CCTV footage while entering the house.
Giribala Singh is one of the prime accused in the Twisha Sharma murder case. Actress and model Sharma was found hanging at the house under suspicious circumstances on May 12.
What Did The Investigation Reveal?
The police officials claim that CCTV footage captured six miscreants entering the house. While four of them entered the house, two remained outside to keep a watch.
The six suspects entered the house from the rear window of the first floor and broke the locks of rooms and cupboards, stealing jewellery worth lakhs. The next morning, Giribala's brother Randhir Singh Bhadauria went upstairs and broke the locks of the room.
The eight-member SIT team, led by Katara Hills station-in-charge Sunil Dubey, is investigating the case. Three suspects were initially tracked down from the gang. The accused fled, leaving behind a bag containing silver jewellery, a revolver, and other items. Police teams are continuously conducting raids in Ashoknagar, Guna, Raisen, Gandhinagar, and other locations in search of the accused. A list of the stolen jewellery has also been submitted to the police.

The Twisha Death Case
The case relates to the death of Twisha Sharma, a resident of Noida, who died at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12. Her family has alleged that she was subjected to dowry-related harassment and mental torture by her husband and in-laws.
Following the allegations, the matter was handed over to the CBI for further investigation. The central agency is currently examining the circumstances surrounding Sharma's death and the claims made by her family.
The case involves serious allegations under the newly implemented Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. Giribala Singh faces charges under Section 80(2) for dowry death, Section 85 for cruelty to a woman by her husband or relatives, and Section 3(5) for acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention. Additionally, she has been booked under Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
