Jagran Correspondent, Bhopal: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe has now moved forward from initial digital forensic review to more detailed examination of key electronic evidence in the Twisha Sharma death case. The agency has completed the technical analysis of Twisha’s laptop, which is considered an important piece of evidence in the case.
CBI Intensifies Probe
According to reports, so far, the investigation has mainly uncovered some personal data, photographs, and limited work-related details linked to her previous company from the laptop. The agency has now begun examining the mobile phone, a secure clone of which had already been prepared. The CBI is not rushing its investigation in this high-profile case.
Officials Examine Laptop, Phone And Chats
Reports indicate that officials are carefully and thoroughly analysing the data, with experts conducting detailed reviews in shifts, taking breaks every two hours to ensure precise examination of the evidence. The investigating team is currently focused on examining mobile call logs and various digital media platforms, particularly WhatsApp chat records, as the volume of messages on these channels is reported to be substantial.
Deleted Data Under Scan
To analyse this digital evidence, agencies are employing forensic imaging and cloning techniques to ensure the original data remains untampered. After this, using a write-blocker tool, the data is being secured, and efforts are being made to recover deleted messages, photos, and chats through advanced software such as EnCase and Cellebrite.
WhatsApp chat backup files are also being decrypted. Along with this, timeline analysis is being carried out to connect the sequence of events at the time of the incident and just before it, in order to gather more information and further advance the direction of the investigation.
