Twisha Sharma Death Case: The Bhopal court is scheduled to hear the Twisha Sharma death case on Tuesday. During this hearing, the court will decide on the pending applications filed by retired District Judge Giribala Singh. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) management had sought additional time to submit its report.
Request To Release Call Records, Bank Statements
Co-accused and retired judge Giribala Singh has requested the release of Twisha Sharma's family's call records, bank account statements, and the keys recovered from the car at the time of the incident. It is believed that this evidence could provide a new direction to the case.
Meanwhile, public prosecutor Ankur Pandey has also filed an application with the court seeking the availability of Twisha's first and second post-mortem reports. The court had previously issued notices to AIIMS Bhopal and AIIMS Delhi on this issue, seeking their responses.
How The Case Gained Attention?
Model and influencer Twisha Sharma (33) died under suspicious circumstances on May 12 at her in-laws' home in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The evidence and call records and daily disputes indicate that the deceased shared a strained relationship with her husband. Her husband, Samarth Singh, had fled the city shortly after Sharma's death. This further intensified suspicion towards him.
Sharma's family alleged that her husband doubted her having an illicit affair. Mother-in-law questioned her lifestyle. The messages reveal that the victim was suffering from depression for some time, and it was too toxic to sustain her life in her in-laws' house.
Further probing revealed that the in-laws were asking for dowry. The 33-year-old was forced to get an abortion and was mentally exhausted of the torture of the in-laws. The extraordinary interest in the case is because of who Twisha was and the reputation of the family she married into, in public perception, members of India's powerful judiciary are meant to lead by example.
