In a recent update in the Twisha Sharma death case, a key hearing took place on Tuesday. During the proceedings, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the court that the accused had refused to provide their voice samples.

At the CBI's request, the court extended the judicial custody of the accused, former district judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh, until July 28. The court also issued fresh directions to both accused, ordering them once again to submit their respective voice samples.

According to counsel representing Twisha Sharma's family, the CBI had visited to collect the voice samples on July 6. However, Samarth Singh allegedly refused outright to provide his sample, while Giribala Singh gave one sample but declined to cooperate further when investigators attempted to collect another. The agency has now moved a fresh application seeking court directions to ensure compliance.

The court also took up the issue of the postmortem report. AIIMS Bhopal informed the court that the report and all related records had already been submitted to the CBI and, therefore, could not be shared separately. Meanwhile, AIIMS Delhi is yet to respond to the family's request for the second postmortem report.

For the second consecutive hearing, both accused were produced through video conferencing after their legal team cited security concerns, heavy media presence and large crowds at the court complex. The court accepted the request for virtual appearance.

Earlier, the AIIMS Delhi medical board submitted an 11-page report to the CBI in a sealed envelope. According to Jagran.com, citing sources, laboratory and histopathological examinations conducted by the AIIMS team confirmed the presence of skin tissue on the gym belt allegedly used to strangle Twisha. The findings also reportedly match the pattern of injuries found on her neck.
