A heated exchange was witnessed in a special court on Tuesday in the high-profile case about the suspicious death of model and actress Twisha Sharma, as the CBI produced former district judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh after the completion of their five-day remand. During the hearing, Giribala Singh took an assertive position and even represented her own arguments.
The investigating agency did not seek further police remand for either of the accused. Subsequently, the court remanded both Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh to 14 days of judicial custody. They will remain in jail until June 16 and will be lodged separately from other inmates at the central jail.

Giribala Raises Concerns Over Media Coverage
During the hearing, Giribala strongly objected to media coverage, alleging that a “media trial” was endangering her safety. She further informed the court that media persons were tracking her movements and questioned the CBI’s decision to drop her at a distance from her residence during a reconstruction exercise, stating that the manner in which the proceedings were conducted resulted in unnecessary media exposure.
Responding to the claim, counsel for Twisha Sharma, Anurag Srivastava, urged the court to verify the allegation through CCTV footage within the court premises. "If such an incident occurred, the footage should be examined," IANS quoted Srivastava.
Giribala also categorically denied allegations regarding the circulation of CCTV footage, stating before the court that she had released no such material.
The proceedings witnessed sharp arguments between the counsel representing the victim’s side and Samarth Singh, with the courtroom remaining crowded and tense throughout the hearing.
CBI Intensifies Probe Into Financial, Dowry Probe
Meanwhile, the CBI informed the court that it is continuing its investigation and is currently seeking judicial custody of the accused. Sources indicate that the agency is also intensifying its probe into the financial aspects of the case, including allegations of dowry harassment.
Preparations are reportedly underway to seize gold jewellery and other ‘stridhan’items allegedly given to the deceased at the time of marriage. A jeweller has been engaged to assess the purity and current market value of the recovered articles, which may be included as evidence in the case diary.

Twisha Sharma died under suspicious circumstances on May 12. Following an initial investigation, the case was transferred to the CBI, which is now examining the circumstances surrounding her death, allegations of harassment, and related financial aspects.
Witness Allegedly Assaulted
Amid the ongoing Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the Twisha Sharma death case, an incident of assault involving a witness has come to light. The victim has alleged that friends of the accused, Samarth Singh, beat him up on May 30.
On assault allegations, the accused party claimed that the man entered their restaurant in an intoxicated state and created a ruckus. Both parties have filed complaints at the Katara Hills police station. The police are currently investigating the matter.
