A clash erupted between two groups of a royal family of Udaipur, leading to stone pelting outside the City Palace late on Monday night. The ruckus sparked after BJP MLA from Rajsamand and newly crowned Maharana of Mewar, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, and his supporters camped outside the City Palace after they were stopped from entering the palace.

Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, BJP MLA from Rajsamand and the newly declared Maharana of Mewar, was stopped from entering the City Palace, leading him and his supporters to set up camp outside.

After being denied entry, the MLA's supporters started throwing stones and trying to break into the palace. Those inside the palace responded, which intensified the conflict.

The matter was later brought under control after some time, according to District Collector Arvind Kumar Poswal.

"The law and order situation is well under control. Talks were going on with palace representatives as well as the society representatives. We have agreed on certain issues, while talks are still going on for certain others," said Poswal.

District Collector Poswal further mentioned that the district administration has taken the disputed Dhuni Mata Temple site into receivership.

"The district administration has moved to take the disputed site of Dhuni Mata Temple into receivership. If either of the two groups wants to register a case, it will be registered," he added.

BJP MLA Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, was officially named the heir to the Mewar dynasty during a traditional coronation ceremony at the historic Chittorgarh fort, 12 days after the passing of his father, Mahendra Singh Mewar.

During the coronation ceremony, where priests conducted pujas and a havan, Vishwaraj's raj tilak was performed by a former noble who slashed his finger with a sword and used the blood to anoint him.
