Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Greenfield Expressway Update: Under the Government of India’s much-awaited and ambitious Bharatmala Project, a significant administrative and legal development has been recorded in Kaimur district in Bihar concerning the under-construction Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Greenfield Expressway. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved the revised arbitration awards for five additional revenue villages falling under the district. This approval has been granted in light of the decision made by the Arbitrator Court, paving the way for the concerned landholders (raiyats) in these villages to receive double compensation, jagran.com reported.
Earlier NHAI had approved the revised award for 47 revenue villages. In most cases, the payment process has also started. So far, an amount of about 18 crore has been sent to the bank accounts of various raiyats. After the approval of these five revenue villages, the revised award of a total of 52 revenue villages has now been approved.
The District Land Acquisition Officer said that notices have been issued to the tenants of all 52 revenue villages. These notices are being distributed through the zonal offices and the local police station. Those tenants who have not received the notice due to some reason can directly visit the District Land Acquisition Office and receive the notice.
After receiving the notice, the peasants have been directed to apply to the office with the necessary documents like revenue records, khatian, map, and receipt. After this, the concerned person will measure the land and submit a report, which will be verified by the Circle Officer.
On this basis, the process of compensation payment will be started. To ensure that the peasants do not face any inconvenience, as per the instructions of the DM, a certified copy of the order of the Arbitrator Court is also being provided from the District Land Acquisition Office itself, so that the peasants do not have to go to Patna to do any work.
The option is also open for those farmers who have not yet applied in the Arbitrator Court. They can apply with their documents in the Land Acquisition Office. These applications will be executed soon through a special camp court, so that more and more farmers can get the benefit.
The government has deputed people in every zone. They have been instructed to complete the measurement process of the acquired land of the raiyats in their respective areas quickly and submit the report within the stipulated time limit.
