Varanasi Traffic Advisory: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed VVIP program on April 28, traffic diversions will be implemented in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi from 12 noon to 11 pm. To maintain smooth traffic, the traffic administration has made several changes in the operation of buses, four-wheelers, and cargo vehicles. Public cooperation is also requested in this regard.

Varanasi Traffic Advisory: Diversion Plan For Buses

-Buses coming from Prayagraj, Sonbhadra and Mirzapur will be allowed only till Mudaila Tiraha from Mohansarai underpass.

-Buses coming from Jaunpur will operate only till Harhua Ring Road underpass and will be parked at Kashi Krishak Inter College. Entry of these buses on the overbridge will be completely prohibited.

-Buses coming from Ghazipur and Azamgarh will be allowed only till Azamgarh Ring Road underpass, from where they will be turned back. Ordinary buses from Amra Akhri underpass and Chandpur intersection will also be stopped from going towards the venue and will be diverted to alternative routes.

Arrangements For Four-Wheelers And Goods Vehicles

-Two hours before the arrival of PM Modi, entry of heavy vehicles into the city will be stopped from Babatpur Chowki Tiraha and they will be diverted towards Baragaon.

-Movement of vehicles will be restricted from major intersections like Bhelkha Hanuman Temple, Mudhela Tiraha, Chandpur, Bauliya, Lahartara, Mahmoorganj, Bhikharipur, Naria, Chitaipur, Central Jail, Bhojubir and Kali Mata Temple. Vehicles will be diverted to alternative routes from all these places.

Special Arrangements

Within the BLW campus, vehicular movement will be strictly restricted at several locations, including Cinema Hall Trisection, Central Market, Surya Sarovar, D-05 Railway Crossing, Gomti Market, and Inter College Square. No vehicles will be permitted to proceed towards the venue.

Second Day Of PM Modi’s Visit

Traffic diversion will be in place from 6 am to 10 am on April 29. On this day as well extensive traffic diversion will be implemented in the city. Keeping in mind the safety and smooth traffic, the traffic police has issued a special route plan for buses, heavy vehicles, four wheelers, autos and e-rickshaws. ADCP Anshuman Mishra has appealed to go to the area with VVIP movement only when necessary and follow the traffic diversion.

Special Restrictions On Buses, Heavy Vehicles

-Entry of all heavy vehicles and roadways/private buses into the city will be completely prohibited from Babatpur Chowki Tiraha two hours before the arrival of the VVIP. These will be diverted towards Baragaon.

-Buses and heavy vehicles between Babatpur and Harhua will be sent towards Lohta via Harhua Ring Road via Parampur Underpass, while their entry on Harhua Overbridge will be completely closed.

-Buses will not be allowed to go towards Bhikharipur from Amra Akhri Underpass; they will be diverted towards Mohansarai and Dafi. Buses from Chandpur and Bauliya will also be prohibited from going towards Phulwaria.

Apart from this, the movement of goods vehicles from Padav towards Rajghat will be completely stopped from 6 am to 10 am.

Diversion At Major Intersections

Movement of vehicles will be restricted during VVIP movement at dozens of major places including - Bhelkha Hanuman Temple, Mudhela, Chandpur, Bauliya, Manduwadih, Lahartara, Mahmoorganj, Rathyatra, Bhikharipur, Naria, Chitaipur, Kali Mata Temple, Lakdi Mandi, Marimai, Maldahiya, Pishachmochan, Chetganj, Amar Ujala, Visheshwarganj, Machhodari, Bhadau Chungi, Godaulia and Sonarpura. Vehicles will be diverted from these places towards alternative routes.

Vehicles will be strictly prohibited from entering several locations within the BLW campus, including Cinema Hall intersection, Central Market, Surya Sarovar, D-05 Railway Crossing, Gomti Market, and Inter College intersection. No vehicles will be permitted to proceed towards the event venue.
