A dashcam video showing a narrow escape from a potentially fatal collision on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad Highway has gone viral, sparking concerns over highway safety. The video, recorded around 4:30 AM on October 23, shows a driver narrowly escaping a collision with a truck.
The driver has attributed the terrifying near-miss on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad Highway to the reckless driving of a speeding private travel bus. Sharing the dashcam video on X (formerly Twitter), he recounted the harrowing experience.
In a post on X, he wrote, “Yesterday at 4:30 am, I narrowly missed an accident due to the careless driving of a private travel bus on the Bangalore to Hyd road. Fortunately, I didn't panic. One wrong turn would've cost our lives.”
Highlighting a serious concern, the driver warned about the dangers posed by reckless driving. “This is just an example of the accidents costing many lives on highways due to the careless driving of private travel buses,” he added.
The video, which has now gone viral, sparked thousands of reactions, with social media users sharply divided over who was at fault in the incident.
Netizens React To The Viral Video
Many social media users expressed shock and sympathy for the driver’s narrow escape. One user wrote, “That near miss sounds like a horror movie you survived with a smile and a sigh. The real punchline is every tiny decision on the road could be a lifesaver or a cliffhanger. Humor helps nerves fray less, but steady attention saves more lives than any joke. Drive safe, folks, the sequel depends on it.”
At the same time, the driver’s handling of the situation drew criticism. “Nothing wrong with the bus tbh, the driver took a conscious call for his own vehicle. Without visibility you matched up the speed thinking that tailgating would yield the same result for you. You in plain words - put your trust in the driver of the bus which you shouldn’t have. If you had the visibility, sure - but here nope, you are at fault 100%. The bus driver - yes aggressive driving but doesn’t mean that the driver was at fault here. He managed to cleanly navigate without any break of rules or anything like that,” another user wrote.
“Life Lesson for all, Drive Smart, Stay Safe. Never tailgate a vehicle that fully blocks your line of sight ahead. It's not just bad driving, it's inviting a major accident on the road. Keep that safe following distance, scan the horizon, and stay alive,” a user advised.
