The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, calling it a victory for the students and their month-long agitation at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

CJP leaders and volunteers expressed happiness over the development, saying their continuous protest, demonstrations and demands for accountability had finally yielded results.

Reacting to the news, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said, “We have done it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned.” 

The protest site at Jantar Mantar erupted in celebration the moment news of Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation arrived. Reacting to the news of the resignation, the CJP posted: "Cockroaches won. Democracy won. Jai Hind!"

Posting on its official X handle, CJP said, “This is democracy. He has resigned. We have two more demands. We won't go like this. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. But the families of the children who committed suicide should receive compensation of one crore rupees. They should get it. One crore rupees compensation to all those families. And second, these police goons who acted on the 20th. Action must be taken against the police officers for that. Remember, do not mess with cockroaches.”

Sharing a photograph of him from the hospital with a victory sign, activist Sonam Wangchuk in his X post said, IT'S A VICTORY OF DEMOCRACY direct democracy... straight from the streets. It's a victory of peace, patience & persévérance. Videos circulating on social media platforms showed protesters and students dancing and celebrating, with chanting slogans such as ‘Vande Mataram.'

The party had been demanding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over alleged irregularities linked to competitive examinations, including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy.

CJP leaders said the resignation marks an important moment for students and claimed that the government’s decision reflects the impact of their sustained campaign.
