Weather Update:  The monsoon rains grabbed the entire country on July 2, six days ahead of its scheduled time. Northeastern states are mostly affected by intense rains, related landslides, and flood conditions. As a result, schools and colleges have been closed in Manipur till Thursday. Also, five people have died in Nagaland due to rain-related incidents in the last few days.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an extremely heavy rain alert in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram and heavy rain alert in 9 states Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala.

Rain Alert In THESE Regions In Next 24 Hours

Skymet forecasts moderate to heavy rain in portions of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand over the next 24 hours. Northeast India, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, East Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, portions of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands may have mild to moderate rainfall, with heavy rain in certain areas. While mild to moderate rain may fall in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, East Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Odisha, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, and Lakshadweep. At the same time, light rain is expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Rayalaseema, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Tamil Nadu.

Weather Forecast For Next Three Days

The Meteorological Department forecasts light to moderate rainfall, as well as lightning and thunder, in the country's northwest and central regions during the next three days. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in several parts of western Uttar Pradesh on July 3 and 4. Heavy to extremely heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Uttarakhand during the next three days. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Assam, and Meghalaya from July 4 to 6. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of central Maharashtra from July 5 to 7.
