West Bengal Assembly Election: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee on Friday unveiled the party's poll manifesto ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Election. Banerjee, who is aiming for a fourth consecutive term, stated that the manifesto has her 10 'protigyas' (pledges), which will be fulfilled if the party returns to power after the elections.
While releasing TMC's poll manifesto, Banerjee criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating, "In every election, we have witnessed various conspiracies since the time the BJP came to power, but this time the conspiracy has crossed all limits. It seems they want to capture Bengal by any means and take control of the state."

A Look At TMC's 10 Pledges In Poll Manifesto
1. Lakshmider Joy, Swanirbharata Akshay: Under Lakshmir Bhandar, monthly assistance has been increased by Rs 500, providing Rs 1,500/month (Rs 18,000/year) for general women and Rs 1,700/month (Rs 20,400/year) for SC/ST women.
2. Yubader Pashe, Jibikar Aswase: Monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500 (Rs 18,000 annually) under Banglar Yuba-Sathi for unemployed youth.
3. Budget-e Krishi, Krishaker Hashi: A Rs 30,000 crore Agri-Budget to support farm families, provide financial assistance to landless farmers, and promote holistic development of the agricultural sector.
4. Nishchit Basasthan, Chintar Abashan: Ensure that every family in Bengal has a pucca home.
5. Ghore Ghore Nal, Porisruto Paniyo Jal: To provide piped drinking water to every household in Bengal.

6. Suswasthyer Adhikar, Banglar Sobar: Annual Duare Chikitsa camps in every block and town for doorstep delivery of healthcare services.
7. Shikshai Sampad, Bhabishyat Nirapad: Holistic infrastructure upgrade of all government schools under Banglar Shikshayatan.
8. Purber Banijjyer Kandari, Bangla-i Dishari: To position Bengal as the Gateway of Trade for Eastern India with world-class logistics, ports, trade infrastructure, and a state-of-the-art Global Trade Centre.
9. Prabeender Pashe, Jotner Aswase: To ensure Old Age Pension support for all existing beneficiaries and gradually extend pensions to all eligible senior citizens.
10. Prashasonik Subiday, Notun Diganta Banglay: Establish seven new districts and expand the number of Urban Local Bodies through a comprehensive geographical reorganisation.
TMC Releases List Of Candidates For West Bengal Assembly Election
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on March 17 released its list of candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Election, announcing names for 291 of the 294 constituencies. Mamata Banerjee is set to contest from Bhabanipur against the BJP's Suvenshu Adhikari.
The election will be held in two phases, on April 23 and April 29 with counting of votes on May 4.
