Tobacco baron KK Mishra has come under intense scrutiny after his son Shivam Mishra rammed his speeding Lamborghini into pedestrians in Kanpur. The accident occurred around 3:15 pm near Rev-3 Mall, when the luxury car went out of control, triggering chaos in the busy area. Police later seized the vehicle following the incident.
Eyewitnesses claimed the car was being driven at a very high speed and alleged that the driver was drunk. According to accounts, the Lamborghini first hit an auto-rickshaw, then crashed into a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle, throwing the rider nearly 10 feet into the air. The car reportedly dragged the motorcycle for some distance before slamming into an electric pole and finally coming to a halt.

KK Mishra, alias Munna Mishra, is the owner of Banshidhar Tobacco Company, which is a major gutka supplier to companies in and around the region of Kanpur. Mishra is a significant player in the tobacco industry and holds both financial and political clout in the region.
Banshidhar Tobacco Private Limited is a big player in the tobacco industry and is known for supplying products to major pan masala groups. The company has a declared income of Rs 20 to Rs 25 crore. However, the actual income is anticipated to be between Rs 100 and Rs 150 crore.
In March 2024, the IT department had raided several facilities of the Banshidhar Tobacco Company across Kanpur, Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat. The investigating agencies unearthed a complex web of financial manipulations both within the country and outside.
The IT officials also found a large cache of luxury cars valued at nearly Rs 50 crore during the raids, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom worth Rs 16 crore at his son’s residence in Vasant Vihar, Delhi.
Authorities also confiscated a McLaren, a Porsche, and a Lamborghini, all notably featuring the '4018' registration number. In addition to luxury cars, the IT officials also recovered Rs 4.5 crore in cash.
Mishra’s Tobacco Empire
Mishra’s Banshidhar Tobacco Private Limited has been a supplier of tobacco products for major pan masala groups of India. The company has been active in the manufacturing industry for the last 30 years. According to a report by Times Now, the company is currently managed by directors Usha Mishra, Krishna Kumar Mishra and Shivam Kumar Mishra.
The company's proprietor, who resides in Aryanagar, moved his business operations from Kanpur to Delhi and now lives there. The factory of the business is situated in Ahmedabad.
