Woman Alleges Harassment By Zepto Delivery Agent In Instagram Video
In a video posted on Instagram, a woman claimed that a delivery partner arrived at her house to deliver an order and requested water to drink. Though she gave him a bottle and told him to take it with him, he repeatedly asked for more water and insisted on being let inside her house for five minutes. Despite her refusals and her suggestion that he sit in the space outside, the agent persisted.
The Escalation
The situation escalated when she tried to close the gate, after which the delivery partner allegedly rang the doorbell multiple times. Fearing for her safety, the woman locked the door, after which the delivery agent began banging on the gate aggressively.
Netizens React
In the video, the woman urged Zepto to investigate the matter, expressing dissatisfaction with the platform's grievance redressal system. She said that when he tried to report the incident through the app, she received an automated response stating that an investigation was underway.
The video has since gained significant online attention, sparking widespread concerns over customer safety. Several users have demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, while others raised questions about the background verification processes followed by quick-commerce platforms, such as Zepto and Blinkit.
Others advised caution while receiving deliveries. "Just ask them to leave the order at the door and avoid unnecessary interaction. Please stay safe," a user commented.
What Zepto Said?
Zepto responded to the post, stating, "This isn't the experience we aim to deliver, and we would like to investigate the matter. Please share your order details and contact number via direct message so we can look into this at the earliest."
