Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that the state government is preparing for the next 25 years under ‘Vision 2050’, to eliminate poverty, unemployment and exploitation from Jharkhand. Addressing a massive gathering at the state-level function held at the historic Morhabadi Maidan on the occasion of the 25th State Foundation Day, the Chief Minister said that future generations will not face the injustices that their ancestors endured.

At the event, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and the Chief Minister jointly inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 1,087 projects worth Rs 8,799 crore.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand has contributed immensely to the nation’s development. “The country’s industries run on the minerals of this land. If India has made its mark globally, Jharkhand has played a major role in it. The state deserves equal respect and rights,” he said, adding that Jharkhand’s Adivasi and Moolvasi communities are the original inhabitants of the country and are ready to march ahead with the nation.

Soren stated that the state must remember the sacrifices made for its creation. “This land has produced countless heroes whose struggles have given us a unique identity. Now, every citizen, farmer, youth, and the government must contribute to building a prosperous Jharkhand,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the government is planning with a long-term vision and has reserved half of the budget for women. “New milestones are being achieved in education every day. Our children are excelling not only in academics but also in sports at national and international levels,” he said. Work in health and technology is also progressing rapidly to empower the next generation.

He said the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana has shown visible results and has now been adopted by several other states.

Soren emphasised that a developed India is possible only through developed states, and states can progress only when villages grow. Strengthening villages is the government’s top priority, he said.

The Chief Minister grew emotional while remembering his father, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. Calling him a “giant tree that provided shade to Adivasis and Moolvasis”, he said the absence of Shibu Soren on the state’s 25th Foundation Day left a quiet void in his heart.
