Ranchi Crime: Man Arrested With 3.75 Kg Opium In Lower Bazar; Caught Moving Drugs From Lalpur

Police in the Lower Bazar police station area of Ranchi have taken significant action against drug trafficking. A man named Md Zubair Ansari has been arrested with 3.758 kilograms of opium. The accused was apprehended during a raid conducted on the basis of a tip-off, and cash and an identity card were also recovered from him. Police are now investigating the source and destination of the opium.

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Lower Bazar police arrested a young man and recovered 3.758 kilograms of opium from his possession. The arrest took place during a raid conducted after the police received a tip-off about the movement of narcotics in the area.

The Operation

The police received specific intelligence that an individual was transporting narcotics from Lalpur towards the Kanta Toli area. Acting swiftly on this information, a raid was organised in the Lower Bazar police station area under the direction of the City Superintendent of Police (SP).

The Chase And Arrest

During the operation, the police team spotted a young man approaching with a bag. When the officers signalled him to stop, he attempted to flee the spot. However, the police force successfully surrounded and apprehended him.

Identification: The accused has been identified as Md Zubair Ansari.

Recovery Of Contraband

Upon searching the accused's bag, police found a black plastic bag containing two transparent packets filled with a black, sticky substance.

Seizure Details: The substance was confirmed to be opium, weighing a total of 3.758 kilograms.

Other Items: In addition to the narcotics, the police recovered Rs 2,300 in cash, a mobile phone, and personal documents including an Aadhaar card, PAN card and driving licence.

Investigation Underway

The police have registered a case and are interrogating the accused to determine the source of the opium and the intended recipients. Authorities are working to uncover the wider supply chain involved in this trafficking network.
