Ranchi Weather Alert: Rain And Lightning Warning Issued, Cloudy Skies Until Oct 10

Ranchi experienced drizzle throughout the day on Friday, bringing down temperatures and providing relief from the humidity. Devotees faced difficulties during Durga Puja. According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring rain until October 5. The state has received 252 per cent more rainfall than normal, and this downpour is expected to continue for the next few days.

The state capital experienced continuous drizzle and overcast skies on Friday, a weather pattern expected to persist until October 5th due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has advised residents across the state to be particularly cautious of lightning strikes during this period.

Friday's Weather At A Glance

- Maximum Temperature: 25.2°C (a drop of 4.8°C)

- Minimum Temperature: 22.5°C

Conditions: The significant drop in temperature made the weather pleasant and provided relief from humidity. However, the rain caused inconvenience for devotees during the recent Durga Puja celebrations.

Detailed Weather Forecast

Until October 5:

- A low-pressure area will cause intermittent light to moderate rain across nearly all districts of Jharkhand.

October 6 to 14:

The weather will see a slight improvement, but skies will remain cloudy with a continued possibility of occasional light showers, especially until October 10. From October 13 to 14, the chance of rain will be very low. No significant temperature change is expected during this time.

From October 15 Onwards:

The forecast indicates that the sky will become completely clear from October 15 and 16. Temperatures are expected to rise, with the maximum reaching approximately 28°C and the minimum around 20°C.

Jharkhand Records 252 per cent Excess Rainfall in Early October

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Jharkhand has received exceptionally heavy rainfall in the first two days of the month.

- From October 1 to the morning of October 2, the state recorded 22.6 mm of rainfall.

- The normal rainfall for this period is 4.5 mm.

- This represents 252 per cent excess rainfall for the period.
